Henry, a young boy who loves Christmas, was excited to write his letter to Santa. But his cranky neighbor, Miss Broom, had nothing to do with the festivities. She didn’t decorate her house, she didn’t sing Christmas carols, and she didn’t even open her presents.
Henry wanted to help Miss Broom discover the magic of Christmas. He tried all sorts of things, but nothing worked. One day, he was playing in his backyard when he saw Miss Broom’s chimney. He had an idea!

Henry climbed up Miss Broom’s chimney and found himself in her attic. He looked around and saw a dusty old letter. He picked it up and read it. It was a letter from Miss Broom to Santa, asking for a friend.
Henry realized that Santa must have never received the letter. That’s why Miss Broom was so lonely. Henry decided to leave a surprise for Miss Broom.
He put the letter back where he found it and climbed back down the chimney. He ran to his house and got a box of his old toys. He put the box outside Miss Broom’s door and rang the doorbell.
