Over on another part of the railway, Spencer and Gordon get carried away with their competitive streak, much to the annoyance of their passengers. Their rivalry causes chaos on the tracks until they finally realise that teamwork and kindness are far more important than proving who is the fastest engine.

The winter weather brings its own challenges too, leaving some engines snowed in and stuck. Even so, help comes from surprising places, including Diesel, who finally gets the chance to prove himself when the island is hit by a big freeze. With festive lessons to learn and friendships to celebrate, Christmas on Sodor is a cosy seasonal treat for the whole family.
